Promoting cooperation and technical training across ASEAN

The Network of ASEAN CBR Defence Experts (“ASEAN CBR Network”) aims to be a hub that brings together CBR technical experts from ASEAN Member States (AMS) to enhance regional capabilities in the handling of CBR materials.

Addressing threats from chemical agents through prevention, detection, and decontamination strategies. This includes training and sharing best practices on handling hazardous chemicals.

Focusing on biosecurity and bioterrorism, the Network works on rapid response mechanisms to biological threats, including disease outbreaks or bioweapons.

Radiological

Radiological

Enhancing preparedness for radiological incidents, such as nuclear accidents or radiological dispersal devices, by sharing expertise on radiation detection and containment.

This will be achieved through workshops, technical training, courses to share expertise and mutual visits to facilitate exchanges. The Network’s web portal provides a platform for the CBR technical experts to share information and serves as a repository for CBR-related technical resources.

The ASEAN CBR Network focuses on regional CBR capability-building activities for AMS; and promotes an effective understanding of regional CBR expertise. This will subsequently pave the way for AMS to develop speedy, coordinated and effective responses to CBR incidents.
